we appreciate you taking time to talk with us. for those of you who are watching from other parts of the country, an idea of where this school is, it's newtown, connecticut, 60 miles northeast of new york city, a 45-minute drive or an hour at the most if traffic is good. as we pull out, you can see the town. that's the hospital where n.j. was reporting just moments ago. not far from the school. when the initial call went out, they thought they would be treating a lot of injuries. so far, only three people have been brought to the hospital and while you don't want anyone end up in the hospital, the hope as this began unfold, the hope that many made it to the hospital. the number is simply staggering. at least 27 dead. that's the latest number that we have. we know many of them are children. we know parents are on the scene. most of the parents whose children made it out have already been reunited. you can see an adult with three children walking out there. children holding hands. doing what they were told and doing what they were s

the holidays are upon us and won't get off us. it's time to start practicing your pretending to like a gift face. christmas is a major operation for me. i buy hundreds of gifts and i buy them all myself. people think i have an assistant. i do but he doesn't do anything for me. he does some things for me, believe me. but he's having a baby. i went to costco this weekend. it was a two-cart weekend for costco. people were asking if i worked there. i move things like i'm one of the employees. leaving costco my truck was packed to tightly i could see out the front and 1/18 out of the window in the back and the truck was almost completely packed with alcohol. it was. something -- if someone had rear ended me i wouldn't have been arrested for a dui. i would have drowned. and now i have to wrap -- you don't have to wrap alcohol, do you? i bought sweaters to put around the bottles. i'm good at a lot of things, sex obviously. i can cook. i draw. i know how to juggle. but i cannot do a decent job of wrapping a gift. most guys are bad at this

we use this model to show us where the worst winds will be. what you need to look at is the red arrows. and those red arrows go from the boston area, north into maine, all the way to atlanta. this storm has big snowfall totals, big-time. 20 inches of snow coming down in some locations. and one of those places, williamsburg, iowa, picked up a good, heavy snowstorm and a blizzard. our ginger zee is right there. good morning, ginger. >> sam, we're tried desperately to get to chicago, just couldn't do it. i-80 kept shutting down. you can see why. this is what litters the side of the highway everywhere. trucks, semi-trucks. it was such a rough night and really, this storm isn't quite done with us yet. overnight, the lashing winds and blowing snow stretched from nebraska to michigan. major highways across the midwest, shut down. as drivers struggled to stay on them. believe it or not, this is i-80. look at the long line of cars. just a complete parking lot. we've been here for at least 30 minutes. and we don't know how long we're going to be here. h
